Map 39 Bruce Trail Guide
Day 2 hike started at the shoreline at Cape Chin South - Dyer's Bay. We travelled south along the main trail through the Smokey Head White Bluff Provincial Nature Reserve. This section of the trail is quite rocky and often at time we were on the edge of the cliffs. Scenery was breath taking.
On this hike I met my first rattlesnake! The snake saw us before we saw it. It made it's presence known shaking it's rattler. It was quite loud and was thankful for that. It was in the middle of the path in a sunny spot - curled up and had no intention of moving. One brave hiker, picked it up using a long stick and tossed it off the trail. Needless to say we didn't stick around long but did manage to get a photo of it using the zoom on my camera, however it's a bit blurry. Despite the blur you can still make out the rattle in the corner of the picture.
